BAHARI SALAMA - A film project needs your support

The inhabitants of Jambiani, fishermen and sponge farmers, want to sensitize the coastal inhabitants of the whole of East Africa to marine conservation with the film project BAHARI SALAMA. They talk about their environmental problems, about overfishing and how they learned to go new ways in harmony with the sea.
What is special about this documentary film by the small Italian production company Tripodphoto is that only locals have their say. The spoken language is Swahili. The film motivates people to help themselves.
One of the protagonists in the film is Okala, our project manager in Zanzibar:
"The Italians have come to film me! I told them my story and showed them how we grow sponges, reforest coral reefs and protect the sea".

The Italian team still needs the remaining money for the final production. Watch the BAHARI SALAMA trailer and support the completion of this documentary film. It is to be shown at festivals and broadcast on East African television stations to sensitise the local population to marine conservation. Jambiani as a role model for others.
