June 2011 - Expert Identification of some of the found sponges

Fifteen sponge samples will be sent this month to the Netherlands Centre for Biodiversity Naturalis for expert identification. Dr. Nicole J. de Voogd (curator and sponge researcher) has kindly offered to identify sponges for us until we have developed the necessary know-how to do so at the Institute for Marine Science (IMS) in Zanzibar.
